This position pays $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Reporting to Johnson Utilities in San Tan Valley, AZ, this individual serves as a Water Foreman, performing plant operations duties including checking, troubleshooting and improving water production facilities.
The Water Operator Foreman will promote associate development by assisting operations staff with training seminars including safety, preventative maintenance and system operations. Receives job assignments through work orders and verbal instructions from Plant Operations Supervisor and is expected to carry projects through to completion, resolving most problems independently. Participates by a method of hands-on work, prioritizes work and decides what equipment and materials are needed to accomplish work assignments. Monitors work-in-progress to ensure timely completion. Inspects project upon completion to verify that all aspects of the job have been performed properly. Reads and interprets water facility plans. Contacts vendors and contractors to coordinate repair/modification projects. Completes purchase requisitions, maintenance records and other simple reports. Requires overseeing equipment check sheets. Performs other work as required. Knowledge of all aspects of water system operations. Working knowledge of water pumping and production facilities and water distribution system. Working knowledge in the operation of light, medium and specialty utility repair equipment. Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to communicate operational and personnel problems to supervisor in a timely manner. Ability to read and interpret gauges, recording devices and general plant instrumentation. Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records. Ability to be at work every day and on time. Ability to perform heavy maneuvers. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and to climb up and down stairs. Ability to operate company motor vehicles and equipment. Ability to determine what equipment, tools, manpower and materials will be needed to complete assigned projects; skills in contract/project management. Ability to deal courteously with customers and the general public. Ability to exercise independent judgment in operations duties, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal associates, supervisor/management personnel and vendors. Ability to use both hand tools and power tools. Ability to work outdoors under all weather conditions including summer heat.
Seven (7) years experience in all phases of water treatment with a minimum of two (2) years experience in RO systems. ADEQ Grade 3 Water Distribution and Grade 3 Water Treatment certifications required. High school diploma or equivalent. Individuals filling this position must operate Company owned vehicles in a safe manner, possess and maintain a valid Arizona Drivers License. All applicants must be able to respond to call-outs and be on the job-site within 45 minutes of notification.
